“BOOKINGS NOW OPEN FOR 2021 – Please get in touch though to find out how I can support your child this year”

Does any of this sound familiar?

So you have a son or daughter who is a student and sometimes you’re not sure they’re on top of things, and not sure how to help?  They:

  • seem unsure of what homework needs to be completed and when it is due
  • image of daughter at a desk being watched by her mum at the door
  • they are struggling with getting the marks they are capable of in tests or exams
  • seem overwhelmed, get anxious and not sure where to start?
  • struggle with time and the management of a student planner/diary or don't use anything at all
  • works late until the night before in order to complete a task
  • sometimes or regularly miss project/assignment deadlines
  • don’t appear to understand the difference between homework and study/revision
  • are irritable, snappy and stressed or quiet and withdrawn
  • have a cluttered and disorganised desk or bedroom
  • have a school bag or locker full of ‘stuff’, the contents of which is largely unknown to them or anyone else
  • have piles of papers and notes that don't appear to be organised in anyway
  • spend a lot of time looking for information
  • get distracted easily and/or procrastinate
  • tell you that you nag too much and to leave them alone they have it in hand.

Academic Life Coaching

Organising Students is about equipping students with simple and effective tools & strategies in organisation, time management and study skills which are key to their success and enjoyment at school and in life.

We work individually with students to develop a personal organisational approach that will work for them and help them take responsibility for their school work, activities and time. Each student is unique and our program is tailored to the individual needs of the student – there is no one size fits all approach!

As an Academic Life Coach, and also commonly referred to as an Executive Function Coach, Amanda, asks students questions to assess what they do and don’t know rather than jumping right in and solving the “problem”. Often they know more than they realise and its about building up their tool box with the right tools and strategies to suit them.  The end goal is ensuring they can be in charge of their own learning and take control.

Most students have an inherent desire to learn and succeed and these programs are designed for those who are ready to improve themselves but simply don’t know how to go about it. Organising Students also coaches & supports parents and conducts workshops/webinars for students, parents and teachers in & outside of the school environment.

Study is the wrong word

Students do well if they can

What do I mean by ‘students do well if they can‘?  At the end of the day I personally believe that no student goes out of their way to fail or not do as well as they can. Too often parents rush to find an answer to questions like why: […]

Testimonials

“Amanda ran a to the point transition workshop that helped both parents and students understand what to expect from secondary school.  Amanda was very friendly, easy going and likeable, allowing parents and students the opportunity to speak freely about their concerns.  Students and parents left the workshop with a smile on their face and with a better indication of what to expect in the year to come”

Danielle – Year 6 teacher – St. John’s XXIII Primary School
“I just thought I would touch base with you regarding my meeting with my daughter’s school yesterday….
They wanted to discuss her past 4 redemptions & also her improvement in her assessments over the last few weeks. They asked me what I think contributed to her improvement & all I could think of was, YOU! 🙂
I mentioned how you had been working with her & doing wonders in keeping her focused, organised & more prepared for her assessments! Thank you!! The teachers were definitely impressed & I dropped your name several times during the meeting!”

Feedback from a parent of one of my Year 11 students who just needs a bit of self confidence which she is getting from using right tools and strategies when it comes to managing her time and tasks.
